Windsock Material
Our International Orange windsocks are made of premium, durable nylon which is treated with a water repellent and a UV inhibitor. Our nylon is the best material for making the windsock responsive to all wind conditions and translucent to allow the light to shine directly through the windsock to cast a “glow in the dark” appearance.
The “Bright” luster references the fact that our nylon is chemically engineered to have inherent UV resistance (as compared to other nylons). Additionally, our dyes contain UV stabilizers which increase the longevity of our dyed nylon.
We evenly spaced brass grommets (more than our competitors) to allow for the windsock to be attached to the windsock frame with tie wraps we provide.
Stainless Steel Windsock Frames
Our standard windsock frame is 18″ (24″ & 36″ windsock frames available). Our windsock frames are made out of extremely corrosive resistant materials to withstand even the harshest conditions. We use 304 welded stainless steel and a unique Delrin type ball bearing which is only available on our windsock frames.
Windsock Pole
We manufacturer a 19-foot-tall stainless steel windsock pole. This pole comes in three (3) 7-foot sections above ground and one (1) 5-foot base underground. The pole incorporates a hinged base to easily lower windsock frame for maintenance. BDS WP19-SS (BDS 19-foot Stainless Steel Windsock Pole).
If you would like to use your own windsock pole, we provide a 1” NPT connection on the bottom of our windsock frame assembly for connection to 1” or larger support pipe supplied by others. The installer must decide whether to use a 1” or larger pole/support pipe for the installation. Galvanized schedule 40 pipe is most commonly used. This pipe can be purchased at any plumbing supply house, Home Depot, or Lowes.
New Product Release
BDS Systems Inc. is ready to release a new line of non-lighted windsock frames. These non-lighted windsock frames will be outfitted with the same type of non-corrosive PVC tubing and delrin bearings that are currently available on its internally lighted windsock systems. An 18”, 24”, and 36” non-lighted windsock frame will be available.
